2012 Northwinds Symphonic Band
Third Annual High School Solo Competition
Application Deadline ~ February 10th, 2012
The Northwinds Symphonic Band, a music educator's ensemble, is proud to announce its Third Annual High School Solo Competition for outstanding young musicians. The winner will receive a $1000 grant and appear as a guest soloist in a special concert with the Northwinds Symphonic Band on April 29th, 2012.

Northeast District Kansas Music Educators Association

Your Northeast District KMEA Board has worked hard for a fabulous year.  The dates for this year’s district events are listed on the calendar page  Please note that all levels – elementary, middle, and high school will once again be held on the December 3rd date at three different sites.

Do plan to take part in your district’s events!  Directors and students benefit immeasurably from the quality experiences in the large ensembles.  Nationally acclaimed clinicians that have worked with our Northeast District groups proclaim them among the best anywhere.

If you are not currently a member of MENC/KMEA we invite you to join!  As a professional music educator you owe it to yourself and to your students to be a member of your professional organization. Information regarding membership may be obtained from the MENC website:  www.menc.org..

If your student takes the SAT test on December 3rd, they will not be eligible to participate and/or audition for the state ensemble.  Registration begins early in the morning.   All students selected for District must be in full attendance at all rehearsals and/or cannot arrive LATE on that day in order to be eligible for state.   No exceptions are made to this rule.
