NW District Choir Directors:
Below you will find the Northwest District Honor Choir for 2009.
Please let me know ASAP if there are any misspellings. A big THANKS you
to all who helped the auditions run smoothly and helped make this choir
possible for our students!
A few reminders before December 5:
All students should have and original of the audition pieces
(the copy works for the Vivaldi ) as well as: Jabberwocky (Sam Pottle),
I will Arise and Make Music (Farnell) and the Over the Rainbow. If you
don't have the last one let me know I'll get you a copy!
Our work is not done: If our clinician is going to be successful
on December 5th we must be sure our students are well-prepared in
advance. Get them the music now and have them work on it!

CONCERT ATTIRE: Ladies: Dresses, skirts (to the knee please) or Dress
pants and nice blouses. Comfortable shoes you can stand in. Men: Dress
pants, Dress shirt and a long tie. Flip flops, Jeans and T-shirts are
NOT acceptable for performance!

Please send in information on 4-year choir members to Randy Berls (form
is on NW website).

An entry fee of $10.00 for each student will be due on December 5. We
must pay for our students even if they do not attend.

Students must be in attendance the entire day on December 5 to be
eligible for State Honor Choir.

NORTHWEST KMEA CHOIR

Welcome back to another great (we hope) school year! We hope you and your students will become involved in the choral opportunities that Northwest KMEA has to offer!

This year’s clinician will be Steve Eubank from Topeka High School. Steve has been with us before and I believe your students will enjoy his rehearsal techniques, humor, and the excitement he adds to music.

Don’t be scared of the foreign language – there are some good pronunciation guides available on the KMEA website. Elise has assured me the Russian pronunciation will not be a major consideration in the auditions.

AUDTION FORM DEADLINE: October 15 – This application MUST be done through the KMEA website. NO exceptions! Please double check that all of your entries have been recorded before this date!

Live auditions for the District and State Honor Choir will be held on Saturday, November 7 at Hays High School. Please read the audition information listed below! Remember this is an important day for students and TEACHERS. To accomplish the audition process we need everyone to help! Please find a parent or other teacher to supervise your students. If you have a particular job you would like to do (auditions of a certain section??) contact me ASAP so you get your first choice!
