High School Jazz Band
2012-2013
Welcome all jazz band teachers,
As this school year gets under way, I hope you are making plans to bring students to the North Central District Honor Jazz Band Auditions. Auditions will be held Saturday, November 3 at TBA and the High School Mini-Convention will be held at TBA on Saturday, December 1. Our clinician will be TBA.
Audition Materials
The NCKMEA High School Honor Jazz Band audition excerpts are identical to the KMEA All-State Jazz Band 2012-13 audition excerpts.
**The Optional Lead Trumpet and Bass Bone Audition will also be identical to the state requirements. For the musical experts please contact the state Jazz Band chair at hsjazz @ksmea.org.
Audition Fee:
Audition applications and fees, $6 per student, are due by October 12.
Judges
Directors who are interested in judging in the Jazz area should contact me ASAP. Every director is required to judge/monitor/assist in some capacity (Band, Jazz, Choir).
