Tri-M Music Honor Society Scholarship

Scholarship Application
KMEA awards a $500 scholarship to a Tri-M Music Honor Society member who is a high school senior and who will enroll as a music education major in a four-year Kansas college or university. A student must be a member in good standing of his/her local Tri-M chapter and national Tri-M to be eligible. One scholarship will be granted from all papers submitted. The scholarship will be presented at the KMEA In-Service Workshop. The winning student will be notified ahead of time, however, a student does not have to be present in order to receive the scholarship.

Please return the Application Form with a typed essay (250-word minimum) on your background and why you want to major in music education. Also include a letter of recommendation from your school Tri-M Advisor. (Students may apply for this scholarship and the All-State Groups scholarships, but a student may not win both scholarships.)

To Me, Music Is...
...I have an emotional connection to the performer or an audience. Music gets me through the highs & lows in life because no matter where you're from, you experience many of the same emotions as others.
