KMEA Hall of Fame
The KMEA Hall of Fame became a reality at the annual convention
in Wichita in 1975. In compliance with the charge from
the Executive Board, then president Ed Bartley announced
the first nominees elected to the Hall of Fame at the
annual KMEA Board meeting. The first recipients were
inducted on Saturday, February 8, 1975 at the Festival
Concert at Century II in Wichita. The framed award presented
to each recipient reads:
"The Kansas Music Educators Association
is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements
of the above mentioned educator for exceptional contributions
to the children and youth of Kansas.
This annual award honors musicianship of the highest order
and recognizes
exemplary musical and teaching accomplishments."
