National Symphony Orchestra

The National Symphony Orchestra is coming to Kansas!

Kansas will be the site of The American Residency by one our nation’s finest, the National Symphony Orchestra from Washington D.C. Between March 22-30, 2007 nearly 150 performances and educational opportunities will be presented in this region by the members of this prestigious group.

Numerous special opportunities for students, teachers and composers will be offered by the Symphony. Up to 6 of Kansas’ finest musicians between the ages of 14-21, will have the chance through auditions to be selected to attend the Summer Music Institute at no expense to themselves or their families. Also, a Kansas music teacher will be selected to further their professional development, at no expense, with the NSO. Finally, a Kansas composer will be selected to create a chamber piece to be premiered at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
